| ‘Waterloo Sunset’, the famous song by Ray Davies
of The Kinks, celebrates the view from Waterloo bridge- a
place that offers one of the best views in London. Well-known
for its cluster of theatres and cultural establishments, the
riverside has been refurbished and revitalized considerably
in recent times (and, indeed ongoing work continues at the
Royal Festival Hall). Lower Marsh conservation area to the
south east of Waterloo Station has a historic street market
as well as many shops and restaurants. |
