Writes Alec Papasavva from estate agents Frank Harris and Company in Marchmont Street:
“Many people will hear St. Pancras and immediately think about the grandiose station which now serves Eurostar, but the history of the area goes back much further.
“The land on which the station was built was previously known as Agar Town, the only remnant of which remains is Agar Grove, which is just off York Way.
“At the time, the area was known for its squalor, poverty and general deprivation. Houses lacked water and heating, and were severely overcrowded.
“Fortunately, things have changed a great deal since then and there are now a lot of great properties for sale on the market as well as exciting new developments planned for the area.”
