No doubt the word ‘Bloomsbury’ conjures up images of the original Bloomsbury Set, The British Museum, University of London, lovely Georgian Squares and other renowned local institutions. Over the years, the area has attracted the likes of writers, actors, artists with a further array of individuals recognized in their specialist field of work in the form of a blue plaque.

You could be excused for visualising the above people occupying sumptuous, elegant, grand and stylish accommodation with all mod cons (for its time) in one of the areas Georgian streets or in a large Victorian/Edwardian flat within one of the mansion blocks scattered around WC1.

However, this is not always the case. One particular flat we were recently marketing in one of the many tenement style blocks, offered the individual the chance to put on their creative hat to produce a small one bedroom or studio flat. The flat can be described as unmodernised, to say the least, with the latest high spec instalment being a basic shower cubicle squeezed into the corner of the bedroom.

Saying this, the flat is set within one of the areas more popular buildings and if you are feeling the stresses of London life getting to you, can always pop up the road to catch the Eurostar!
